It’s all football now for Tebow

Former Florida Gators quarterback Tim Tebow laughs with Gatorade scientist Melissa Tippet after a caloric expenditure test at the Gatorade Performance Lab on Friday during Super Bowl Week in south Florida. For the first time at a Super Bowl, athletes will use G Series, a new line of products developed by Gatorade scientists and top athletes to get the most out of their bodies before, during and after the game. Tim Tebow has been in the headlines a lot lately, from his performances at the Senior Bowl, to his closing prayer at the National Prayer Meeting in Washington last week, to those Super Bowl ads that were supposed to be controversial but were not.
After all that, look for Tebow to disappear from the headlines for a while. That was the word from his agent, Jimmy Sexton, on Monday.
Sexton, the Memphis-based agent, said Tebow has no more engagements of any kind lined up between now and the start of the NFL Combine on Feb. 24 in Indianapolis.
“It’s going to be nothing but football between now the Combine,” Sexton said.
Tebow is back in Nashville, where he is working out with former NFL quarterback Zeke Bratkowski and former NFL quarterbacks coach Marc Trestman, who was with Tebow at the Senior Bowl.
Tebow is working on his throwing motion and mechanics. Both drew some criticism at the Senior Bowl, and Tebow acknowledged he needed to improve in those areas. If all goes as planned, we won’t be seeing Tebow again until the Combine.

Robbie Andreu has been The Sun’s college football beat writer since 1993. He covered every game of the Steve Spurrier coaching era. The only game he’s missed since he has been in Gainesville is the 2006 Florida State game in Tallahassee. He happily stayed home for that one because of the imminent birth of his second child. Before coming to The Sun in March of 1993, Andreu worked for the Fort Lauderdale Sun-Sentinel for 10 years, covering a variety of sports, including the Miami Dolphins, the Miami Hurricanes, professional golf and baseball (playoffs and World Series). He also worked in Clearwater and Bradenton. He graduated from UF in 1977.
any ideas on who the Gators might select as the new defensive coordinator? Who is availabe? Edwards seemed like a goof fit. Too bad we lost him.

Tim Tebow will be a first round draft pick. Book it!!!
by Jack
I wish TIm the best, but high second round is more likely. The Jags can’t take him until the fourth: They won’t pick him #11 overall, and because they have no second round pick, they can’t afford to gamble with thier pick in the third. Although he’s a high risk/reward prospect, Tebow is a gamble. I just hope he doesn’t go to DC or Oakland. Thanks for the memories, Tim.

Especially the memory of running over FSU at Ron Zook Field. GO GATORS.

Tim may be a ist round pick but NOT AT QUARTERBACK.

Good luck Tim! Prove those critics wrong. We know your hard work will pay off.

I will be glad when Tim is picked to play quarterback in the NFL. Notice I said “when” and not “if”. Coaches know what a great leader he is. And just about every q-back needs work when transitioning from college to pro. With his work ethic, he can do just about anything. If people would leave him alone and quit hanging on his every throw just waiting to pounce, he would be able to settle down and get better. Tim has given us his all for 4 years. I now am giving him my all. The complete and total respect he deserves. Go Tebow!!!!

his agent and the author of this article look a little foolish……
