I have to admit I was a little surprised over the weekend when word started leaking out that Southern Cal tailback Emmanuel Moody was about to enroll in classes at Florida.
After talking with Moody during his visit to Florida last week, I thought it was a longshot at best that he’d end up here. He just didn’t seem all that enthralled with the Gators and the opportunity to be the featured back in Urban Meyer’s offense.

After Andre Caldwell broke his leg in the third game of season in 2005, the Gators were left with so few playmakers that Urban Meyer’s spread offense was rendered ineffective in his first year at Florida.
Three years later, the Gators have playmakers all over the place on offense and this could

Now that two-a-days are over (they officially ended with Monday’s
afternoon practice), it’s time to name our MVP of the preseason camp.
No, it’s not Tim Tebow.
Not Percy Harvin or Tony Joiner, either.
It’s Mickey Marotti, Florida’s director of strength and conditioning.

I’m starting to get the feeling that Urban Meyer really, really likes this team.
Yes, the Gators have been somewhat sporadic in practice, something young teams tend to be, especially in August.

Boy, that Tony Joiner sure can run. We’re not exactly sure how fast he is because we didn’t have a stopwatch on him when he was running away from Sun staff writer Brandon Zimmerman after Wednesday’s afternoon practice.
But he was fast — and determined to get away.

Much has been written about tight end/wide receiver Cornelius Ingram’s near-transfer after the 2005 season. He was talked out of leaving by family members and the former face of Florida football, cornerback Vernell Brown.
