Meyer in no hurry

Although several names have been throw out there in recent weeks, Florida coach Urban Meyer is not close to filling the two vacancies on his coaching staff. In a text message, Meyer said he was not going to rush hiring replacements for Doc Holliday and Stan Drayton. He said he planned to hire the best coaches available and that nothing would happen until after national signing day next Wednesday. To borrow an expression from the former head ball coach, Patrick Johnson needs to check his facts before he starts accusing somebody of something. The Pompano Beach All-America cornerback has been spewing stuff to the recruiting services the past week about his red-flagged test score and the role UF played in it. Pridemore in the house

Buford, Ga., linebacker/fullback T.J. Pridemore’s commitment to the Gators will become official with his formal announcement on Wednesday. Pridemore told Rivals.com on Sunday that he committed to the UF coaches during his weekend visit to Gainesville. After the news hit the Internet, Pridemore said he was going to hold off making it official until Wednesday. His commitment to the Gators is as firm as it gets. Some people I’ve talked to were stunned by the whipping Michigan put on Florida on Tuesday in the Capital One Bowl. I was not.
