It’s amazing how many sports writers and talking heads have become doctors this week. Tim Tebow sustains a concussion, and all of a sudden we have doctors and experts popping up all across the Internet, telling us how Tebow’s injury needs to be treated, and how long he should remain sidelined.
One writer who covers the team said Tebow needs to sit out the season. This opinion came before Tebow was even loaded into the ambulance Saturday night in Lexington. …

LEXINGTON, Ky. — Florida quarterback Tim Tebow appeared to be fine while warming up for tonight’s game against Kentucky.
He appeared energized throwing passes.
Tebow, receiver Riley Cooper , cornerback Joe Haden and safety Major Wright flew to Kentucky on a separate plane Friday because of respiratory and congestive issues, according to a source.
Cooper and Deonte Thompson, who missed last week’s game against Tennessee because of an injury, were also warming up, as was Haden.

LEXINGTON, Ky. — All-America quarterback Tim Tebow and three other starters were flown to Lexington separate from the rest of the team due to illness, a source close to the Florida football team confirmed this morning.
Along with Tebow, wide receiver Riley Cooper, cornerback Joe Haden and safety Major Wright flew to Kentucky on a separate plane.
All four players are expected to play in today’s game.

I took a lot of grief for my prediction last week that the Gators would struggle against the Tennessee defense and Florida would not seal a victory until the fourth quarter. But, I turned out to be right on that one. I just had a feelingUF would have a hard time consistently moving the ball against a Monte Kiffin defense that had been preparing for the Gators’ spread offense for months.

Tim Tebow going under center? Joe Haden lining up at quarterback in the wildcat formation? No. 1 quarterback John Brantley getting a package of plays to run during the natural course of a game?

For the second week in a row, Florida fans (and others) are wondering what in the world is going on with junior tailback Emmanuel Moody.
Two weeks ago against Troy, Moody fumbled in the first half, was pulled from the lineup and did not return to the game. We understand that one, given Urban Meyer’s zero tolerance for fumblers.

All-America middle linebacker Brandon Spikes and wide receiver Deonte Thompson are still limping around, Spikes on a strained Achilles tendon and Thompson on a strained hamstring.
With injuries like those, some time off certainly would be beneficial. But the Gators need these guys to play. Now. On Saturday in Lexington.

Give a legendary defensive coordinator months to prepare for an offense and he’s going to come up with one gem of a game plan. We saw an example of that in The Swamp on Saturday.

I’ve received numerous e-mails this week from readers wondering about the status of Emmanuel Moody, the Southern Cal transfer who has endured a litany of injuries and setbacks since he’s been here.
